Dear Friends of Heartcry,
We are writing this month from the Pacific West Coast of America where we have been on a 3 week ministry trip. We started in California, arriving the day after the terrible wildfires broke out in the Santa Rosa, Sonoma and Napa valley areas. Although no longer staying in the directly affected areas as we moved our hotel reservations, we were aware of the ferocity of these wildfires as the air quality was poor and our car was covered in a sooty dust even though we were a good 50 miles from the epicentre. It has been a devastating time for the many vineyard owners and wider community whose livelihoods depend on tourism. Many tens of thousands of acres of land were destroyed and over 8400 homes and other structures have been lost in 20 separate fires. This has been one of the worst wildfire seasons on record with over 40 lives lost as well. But in the midst of all the loss, there have been some incredible stories of people pulling together and reaching out to one another. It has been such a poignant reminder of the power of true community to restore life and hope in times of trauma and devastation.

With this as our backdrop, our first stop was Fremont, CA, where we spoke at a ladies conference on the theme “Chosen”. We were greeted by “Selah” a miracle baby girl born after prayer at the last conference we spoke at! We loved ministering to the hungry women of all ages and watching as Jesus removed every last shadow of shame. One of the women who attended this year has lived just two blocks away from the church for 14 years but suddenly felt she should attend this conference which she saw advertised outside. She had never been inside the church before but just felt compelled to come in. As she listened to the worship songs and heard the talks, she felt that God was speaking directly into her situation. She gave her testimony at the end of the conference and explained that there had been a traumatic “earthquake” in her marriage a few months before but she knew that she needed Jesus and that He totally understood the tough season she was facing.

Heartcry For ChangeFrom Fremont we then travelled to Turlock, California, and so enjoyed re-connecting with our friends at Harvest Christian Center. This year they have celebrated their 100th anniversary, expanding to two campuses and seeing growth and depth in their church. It was so good to be able to encourage them that however significant their past, God still had more for them in the future and that it was now time to mark the land of their city and leave landmarks of God’s goodness.

After a few days connecting in smaller group settings with friends and supporters in the Seattle area, we then arrived in Spokane for the Awakening Cry conference. We have sensed that this is a season to dig the wells of prayer and the prophetic again in the Pacific North West and so it was such a privilege to minister at Victory Faith Fellowship alongside Pastor Jonathan Thomas from Fergusson, Missouri, who brought such a powerful word about a new “civil righteousness” movement in America. Rather than stand on rights, it is time to seek to align with God’s Kingdom first and see the transformation of our cities into a land of hope and freedom for all people, regardless of race or gender. As I prepared for this conference, I felt God speak to me that this is “wrestling time” – a time to contend for our call and identity, our faith and endurance and an understanding of our authority and power. In line with so many of the prophetic words over the North West, I also felt to speak on awakening the cry for the supernatural: we do not wrestle against people but against principalities and powers and so we need to have confidence that we do not fight this battle alone but that God is ready to give us angelic assistance for this hour! There was such a prophetic and strategic flow at this conference which is hard to summarise and convey in a few sentences but you may like to listen to some of the messages online http://www.victoryfaith.org/faithcast/

While on the road this month, we have had three testimonies emailed to us (one from the USA, one from the UK and one from Norway) with photos of babies who have been born after we prayed with couples for whom it was medically impossible to have a child! Baby Selah, baby Judah and baby Johannes are thriving and happy to be alive – what a miracle!!

As we write we are about to minister at another prayer conference in Portland, Oregon, before traveling to our final conference in Harrisburg, Oregon, where we will be ministering over the weekend before catching our flight home to the UK.

In November, our schedule is somewhat different: Helen will be UK-based, ministering in several churches while Rachel will return to America in the middle of November with Gordon to participate in the Global Prophetic Consultation in Dallas, Texas. November is a time of Thanksgiving and in the midst of a wrestling season it is so amazing to stand and see the provision and faithfulness of God. The new book “I Love Prayer” is ready for sale and the new website will soon be ready to be launched…so watch out, there is change all around!! Please pray with us as we continue to press forward into all the purposes of God in our nations.
