Dear Heartcry Family,

May has been a month of travel for Gordon and me, with continued recovery for Helen back in Oxford. Gordon and I have been in Canada and the North West of America, and slept in 13 different beds and places, in this past four weeks. It has been stretching but also wonderful. Once we leave a place, it hardly seems possible that we have only been with the church or people for  2-3 days, as each stop on the journey has felt like days as we have shared, cried, laughed, prayed, worshipped, taught, fellowshipped, eaten wonderful food and deepened friendships with incredible people. We have just arrived back home to find our garden in bloom and our grass needing a mow! It has been a special time.

One of the treats of this trip was to have two days’ rest away in a cabin near Colville, WA, by a lake. Gordon was very excited and prayed we would see bears! I was not so keen but if they were down by the lake, I would be happy. BUT the first evening a bear strolled by the front door, walking through the cars, and sat on the grass below the deck! He was not spooked by our noise or attempts to scare him. The bear looked big but somehow not dangerous…but I knew he was! The next day I woke up and I felt God say that incredible days of encounter are coming but these days are not just about knowing the presence of God and a new depth of relationship with Him, but also a time of NEW encounters and authority against the devil, and all the spiritual powers, atmospheres and attitudes which have just entered our space in our nations. This is a day of ENCOUNTERS – where we will know our God and the enemy will know us!

God then spoke to me about this bear we saw at the cabin.  God challenged me that in the spirit we have grown too familiar with dangerous things just living around us. We allow them to share our space! But when Monie saw this bear by the cabin, she immediately said, “we cannot allow him to get comfortable here – we have grandkids who visit. He must GO!” Her reaction should be ours in the spirit – these dangerous spirits cannot settle here, they will kill the next generation. We need to be smart and understand that what is living in our space is dangerous, and make sure it is removed.

I believe that we are moving into a new time of encounter where we will need to confront the demonic powers with a fresh authority and see freedom. This is a season of deliverance. This is also a season of healing our lands – God wants us to clear the land and we need to prepare it for the next harvest. As we read in Jeremiah 1:9-10: Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”  We need a new understanding of clearing the land – ready to build and plant it for mighty GOD ENCOUNTERS and HARVEST!

So a little more detail about our ministry in Canada and the North West USA. We landed in Canada first and flew to Regina. Here, although very jet lagged, we had an amazing meeting in the small hall of the church. Hungry people gathered and God touched and stirred our hearts to prayer. The new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, had just been elected the previous day and we felt such an anointing to stand and pray for Canada. It was powerful. We then drove south to Estevan, SK and had a weekend with Living Hope Church for their 40th anniversary. Every service we felt the presence and kindness of God to this church community. There were so many significant personal conversations where you just knew God was healing hearts, stirring expectation, and shifting mindsets so they could experience God in new ways. After this weekend we flew into Seattle, WA in America.

On Wednesday we gathered with the “Wednesday Warriors” group and shared the prophetic revelation for the season. The time of prayer for America and the prophetic impartation was powerful. You could sense the shift of season and preparation for the new move of God. It was while I was here that I heard Frank Damazio has gone to be with Jesus. He was the first man to  invite me to speak in America. It felt like a full circle. For 8 years I had ministered at the North West Intercessors conference and here I was again, 30 years later, praying in the North West. On the Sunday Gordon and I ministered at Sonrise Church, Everett, on US Mother’s Day. Just before I stood to preach, each mom was given a white rose to hold. As I looked out across the congregation of hundreds of people holding a white rose, I felt God say the Bride of America is rising – there is a new purity and grace coming on the church and the darling of Heaven will stand up pure and radiant!

We drove from Seattle area to Walla Walla where we discovered that MFI, the network that Frank Damazio had overseen, was meeting at this time. We attended the Monday night conference session and had a significant time reconnecting with many friends. We then stayed the next 3 days with leaders from Refuge Church, prayed on the land and then met with the city leaders on the Thursday morning. This was a time of repentance, refocus, breaking of bread and knitting of hearts. On leaving the meeting, one pastor turned to us and said, “this was a historic day for our town! We are now believing that spiritual atmospheres will shift and breakthroughs will happen for the leaders.”

Finally we arrived in Spokane, WA. We met with Neuma Church and had two days of meetings, Friday and Saturday. The power of God to deliver and awaken lives was so strong. Gordon spoke powerfully on the Saturday morning and the place was filled with people on their knees crying to God. With Neuma there was also a Marshallese church  who were radically impacted by the word and presence of God. Only a few weeks earlier I had been in a meeting when someone prophesied over me that I would speak to the Marshall Islands. I had wondered how I would do that. But, here in Spokane just a few weeks later, I did! On Sunday Gordon and I spoke at Victory Faith Church, one of our favourite places. We ministered at three services and each one ramped up until the presence of God was so heavy – people were just kneeling at the altar, hungry for more. After all this fun and ministry…we had a few days rest in the cabin….with the bear! Fortunately he stayed outside!

Finally it was back across the US border to Canada again. Driving from Colville to Creston, then Cranbrook and finally Calgary. In Creston I spoke from 1 Kings 18 about the face off with the enemy and encounters with God. In fact what I shared above at the start of this newsletter was birthed in my spirit as I prepared to speak in Creston. On Sunday I spoke at Connect Church, Cranbrook, again telling the Jesus stories of encounter and stirring a passion for connection with Jesus. We were then collected by our precious friends from Calgary who drove us to the airport and we caught the plane home. I was relieved that, even without Helen, but with a lot of Holy Spirit help, we had navigated 4 weeks away and God helped us be in the right place at the right time every day! It was an incredible time away. Thank you so much for all your prayers.

Looking ahead to June, we will be UK based. Helen is resuming a few preaching engagements while heeding the advice from the doctor to pace her return and not do too much too soon so she will also take some time to write our training resource on the Holy Spirit.  With so much hunger and so many completely unchurched people coming to faith, we are finding great demand for discipleship material which teaches the basic principles of the faith with  practical activation alongside. So due to demand for this kind of material, we have just re-published the study guide to accompany Eat the Word, Speak the Word: Exercising a Bible-based Prophetic Ministry. This is a book which aims to instil in you a passion for the Bible and then become a reliable communicator of God’s revelation through the gift of prophecy. The study guide is ideal for personal study or to use in small groups or as part of a series on the gifts of the Spirit. The book and study guide are available on Amazon.

I was unable to attend at Emmanuel Northwood last night but sought out your diary of speaking engagements through US and Canada and was so encouraged and the spirit quickening in me to arise to His voice once more- and to be more attentive – thank you so much praying for the much and the more 🕊️😁🙏🏻.
