Hello Heartcry Family,

I wonder if your September has been crazy busy too? Summer has gone, the rain has returned, the leaves are turning golden and schools are back with all the traffic too! All over the globe we are hearing these wonderful stories of Jesus moving amongst the unchurched and  awakening their spiritual hunger and, at the same time, the reports of nations in crisis, governments being shaken, leaders making poor decisions, churches struggling and times of suffering. I had the privilege to minister in Exeter this month and was sent this email testimony after the weekend:

Hi Rachel,

My family and I went to church all together for the very first time yesterday and we absolutely loved it. I’m grateful that we were so lucky to be there and hear you speaking. It was a very inspiring, very moving speech and you even impressed my 14 year old son who said “mum, that lady was very cool”. So, thank you so much for your energy and your words and everything that you bring. Much love, Eleonora

Having returned from our summer break I have heard many reports of people being awakened to prayer through their summer camps and conferences. James Aladiran had a prayer gathering in Manchester in August that has sparked a fresh call to stand and pray for the UK. I have spoken to many prayer movements and churches who have said that this year they have felt to start September with a focus on prayer, often with a 3-day time of prayer and fasting. People are hungry for the presence and instruction of God. This has been wonderful but also meant that our lives have been busy! I have found myself reading Joel again and hearing the urgency of God to BLOW THE TRUMPET, a call for a time of gathering and prayer again. So, let us read:

Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber. Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ” … Then the Lord was jealous for his land and took pity on his people.

As I have read this scripture, I have felt both the call to gather and pray but also been aware of the kindness of God to give us a second chance. Our God of grace will turn to us IF we will turn to Him.

So what has kept us busy in September?  Gordon and I taught and encouraged leaders in Coventry, while Helen ministered in Motherwell, Scotland. We have had time with leaders from the Kingdom Business community in Exeter and ministered on money and generosity. We had a gathering in Oxford with the national prayer leaders, prophetic leaders and prayer hubs planning prayer strategy and themes for the year ahead. There have been many conversations and times with national leaders and times to listen and plan for the next season. We started the month in Norway and have travelled to many cities in the UK, and had our Legacy prayer day here in Oxford with people from all over this nation.

With so many opportunities in the midst of so much upheaval, it is wonderful to remember that we have an anchor and refuge in Jesus. As the Hebraic new year shifts into 5786, the number 6 corresponds to the Hebrew letter vav which is pictorially depicted as a hook or nail.  It is a constant reminder that who or what we connect to and choose to “hook” into defines our peace and security. If we make Jesus our reference point and align with Him then all other connections flow from there – relationally, financially and geographically as we are positioned by Him.  So this month, remember to maintain a strong connection to heaven and allow the wind of the Spirit to propel you into fruitfulness.

October will be a month of travel for us and we are grateful for your prayers as we serve in the nations. Here is an overview of the schedule for this coming month:

Finally, it is HARVEST time all around us. We have had a bumper crop of apples!! This is also a time when we take a love offering for our work at Heartcry for Change. So we would like you to consider sowing a financial seed into the ground for HEARTCRY. We believe that we need to go in the opposite spirit of the culture around us and sow generously so that we can reap abundantly…becoming a signpost of hope in times of withholding, fear and caution. Heartcry has the privilege to carry seed into so many nations and, as you sow, you are a stakeholder in all we do…thank you!  So, please consider sowing into the future legacy we want to see in our nations.  To sow into this harvest offering, you can do one of the following:

  1. Go to: www.heartcryforchange.com/support-us  where you can make a donation in UK £ or USD $. You can also fill out a Gift Aid form on this page if you are giving in the UK.
  2. Click on the banner “Partner with us for a great harvest” on the Heartcry for Change website homepage.
  3. On Instagram you can also follow the link in the bio.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement.  Have a great October!

All our love,
Rachel, Gordon and Helen.
