Here is an update from our partners in Moldova, Charlotte & Johannes.  Rachel and Gordon had the joy of being with them in November and seeing first hand the encouraging progress being made on the ground and the ways in which Jesus is blessing so many!  

Dear Heartcry for Change,

We want to send you all a huge hug and love from Moldova. We were so blessed with Rachel and Gordon coming for a visit. They ministered to our leaders, our churches and our young girls in Girls Academy. We really have seen a breakthrough. God used their words of encouragement and prayer and in the church something shifted. We have seen a growth and a new hunger for God.  We thank God for the gift they are to the body of Christ

We celebrated the New Year in Denmark with our children and came back to Moldova to start our winter project. Hundreds of homes have received help in the form of coal, wood and food packets.  Our team has been out to the most vulnerable and to the often very old and ill in the small villages. We are thankful that we can do this work and take care of the forgotten and forsaken.

In the churches we started this year with prayer. Much prayer for Moldova, Ukraine and Israel has been lifted up to God. As we left Denmark to travel through Ukraine to Moldova a shell hit one of our partner churches, going through the roof. No one was hurt. We thank God once more for protection. A church in Germany has sent help to repair the damage. The devil attacks but God keeps building His Kingdom. As churches, Moldova also has a need to ask God’s forgiveness for all the suffering the Jewish people experienced during the pogroms and later. Even today the spirit of anti-Semitism is present. People from our congregation have restored a broken and abandoned memorial in our region. It commemorated the suffering of the Jews.

In Moldova we are also building the new vision of training young pastors and leaders. An internship will be established in the churches, training and helping young people to get equipped and trained in hands on leadership tools. Six young couples have expressed a need and desire to be trained in ministry.

In mid-January Charlotte took part in a work group to help better train and support homes that take care of orphans and vulnerable youth. The model of Girls Academy has attracted the attention of different groups and Charlotte was invited to teach and demonstrate the Girls Academy model.  A network has now been formed and we have been asked to be consultants and monitors in helping to establish more such homes for both boys and girls. It is estimated that 13.500 children are living in very unsafe home situations.

We are also planning our training of camp leaders. Every summer 50 youth lead and volunteer in the summer camps for kids, teens and youth. We are planning a training camp in April. Administrators and camp managers are coming together to plan these big summer events. We see more than 500 kids coming through our camps in a season and it has a huge impact on their lives. In the coming week we will be praying, planning and probably also have great fun together. It is a lively and wonderful bunch of youth and always exciting to work with!

Please pray for us as we continue to work in Moldova in all these different areas. We are excited and blessed and also continuing in prayer and intercession for this part of the world that suddenly is part of a much larger picture.
