We hope you enjoyed the different style of Fresh Bread we recorded for you during May while in the USA. It was a word of LIFE. If you missed the messages, they are still available – follow the links posted on our Heartcry Facebook and YouTube platforms so you can hear the team, Gordon, Helen and myself, all speak on Resurrection Life and the Awakening God wants to bring into our lives and communities. Gordon, Helen and I were in America for one month and, having been back in the UK now for about 10 days, my head is finally adjusting to the right time zone. It has taken some time.

We had a wonderful time in America, travelling in the North West states of Washington, Idaho and Oregon. Every place was different but each place had memorable moments and God encounters. During this time away Gordon had his 75th birthday and we took the opportunity to celebrate while we drove from Lewiston, ID to Harrisburg, OR. We chose the scenic route via Mt Hood and the Columbia River and the weather was perfect. Gordon loves his mountains! Our time at River City Church, Lewiston, was powerful and we loved re-establishing the relationships with Ryan King and Kevin Beeson and their team. On the Sunday morning as I preached and talked about breaking the sound barrier, just as I said the word “BREAK the SOUND barrier”, all the power went out! The lights and the sound system all failed…it was perfectly on cue as if rehearsed or practised…it was a profound moment. Somehow it underlined the necessity to be Jesus’ people carrying His message in these days. We then went on our adventure driving from Lewiston to Harrisburg Oregon and spoke at Life Bible Church’s Women’s Conference and their Mother’s Day services. Our theme for the Woman’s conference was BOW LOW but STAND TALL. There were beautiful deep moments of lingering in the presence of God. Times to reflect and listen and respond to the heart of God. The women were awakened and filled. On the Sunday services I spoke about overcoming fear and living free of anxiety. The altars were full of many men responding to Jesus and seeking prayer and help from anxiety. There were many tears, salvations and deep times of calling for God’s help in complex situations.
I really feel that God is challenging us to be A LISTENING GENERATION with a new style of prayer that lingers, is more reflective, has more silence from us, waits for instructions and does not just pray from our needs or wisdom. We need to learn to linger and listen. Let’s be ready to hear God and take time. Revelation 2:17 says, “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches”. There needs to be a priority given to time to HEAR what the Spirit is saying each day. How much time do you take to pray before you plan strategy or attend meetings? Are you practising a rhythm where you hear the Spirit? This needs to be a time when we only speak what we hear – from the Spirit!
After such a rewarding time in America we landed back in the UK and immediately drove to Harrogate, 5 hours north, to speak at the Elim Leaders Summit conference. God is doing amazing things here in the UK too and I could not miss this opportunity to support Mark Pugh, Elim’s Superintendent, and my Elim friends. What an incredible conference. The presence of God was so heavy and people were deeply touched. Every session was outstanding with different flavours and styles of ministry and all profoundly impacting. As I spoke with leaders from across this nation, the report was the same – people are curious about Jesus and they are turning up at church to see; many people are asking to be baptised and younger men are leading the charge – people want God! So even in the chaos of unstable governments and leadership, and whatever the media says about the outlook, God has a plan and it will not fail!

Helen has also been on the road back here in the UK. Speaking last weekend in Life Church Hoddesdon, then during the week she was teaching on the online C3 Cambridge Academy training, and then at St Andrews Church, Botley, Oxford on Pentecost weekend. Gordon was not home in Oxford for long before he left again – this time for Zagreb, Croatia, where he ministered with Duncan & Cathie Vincent to leaders and a church in Zagreb on maturity in Christ. He was away 4 days supporting a young church there who are seeing young men come to Jesus. I stayed home for some days which was wonderful, but I did take the opportunity to speak at St Mark’s Church, Coventry, on Pentecost Sunday. It is always a joy to speak and demonstrate the power and blessing of the Holy Spirit. Finally, we ended the month with more travel but this time to Paris, France, but not before we connected with our friends from Egypt at a conference in Ealing. We attended the Rise Up Now Prayer Conference on the Friday where we connected with the team of prophets and intercessors from Egypt who have a heart for our nation and a passion to pray concerning the Islamic influence in the UK at this time. After spending the day with them praying, we caught the train to Paris. Here Gordon and I connected with Dalia Nassar who leads Alpha for the Middle East and until recently has been living in Lebanon. During the war she had to flee to safety and has found shelter in Paris with a Lebanese church and it was our joy to encourage and connect with her. So we have had busy but happy days!! It has been a joy to serve and speak for Jesus in so many nations.
