Dear Friends of Heartcry,

The first signs of spring are here and many bulbs are taking their opportunity to push through the hardened ground and display their beauty. Several prophetic voices have declared 2017 as the year of the breakthrough. But breakthrough on its own will not change our society. We now need leaders to be ready to seize the opportunities these breakthroughs offer and be the clear sounds for radical change. Who will be radical enough to pioneer a new way and lead in these challenging times of uncertainty?

February started in Turin, Italy, where we were privileged to connect with Gospel House, a vibrant Italian speaking church. We were thrilled to encounter people of hunger, grace and authority who were actively pursuing the presence of God and are beginning to experience the breakthrough they have been longing for.  The weekend saw several churches come together as we ministered on the theme of breakthrough. We took time to prayer walk the city and felt that much of the darkness of its history had been overcome and cleansed and that now was the time to build and plant the new and decree the destiny of Turin as a birthing place for what God has purposed for Italy in these days. We felt hope and expectation for Europe as we saw evidence of such passion for Jesus and hunger for salvation. We believe Europe is being shaken but will no longer be “the dark continent” but that this shaking will reveal the Kingdom life that has been growing in the wilderness.

Back in the UK, Helen ministered at Riverside Church, Southwell, where women from several cities came together and explored the theme “Women of Strength”. It was a time of encouragement and equipping and, again, Jesus was present to heal and save.  Gordon and I were with a church in Fleet and had the privilege of ministering to their leadership team in a personal, informal way during the Saturday as well as speaking in the church on Sunday. Gordon shared his heart concerning a praying church and as he finished many responded sobbing as they asked God to teach them to pray in a new way.

Last weekend saw the first of several visits for Helen and I to the north of England. We ministered in Milnrow, near Rochdale, and heard how Jesus has been at work as this church has stepped out into its community in practical service while carrying the invitation to “come and see” what Jesus can do. The day before the meeting, a woman from the church went to deliver a vacuum cleaner to someone in the community who was in need and could not afford the transport to collect it. Taking the opportunity, the church member delivered the vacuum cleaner but also invited this lady to the ladies meeting the next day. Never having met her before or had anything to do with church, the lady accepted the invitation.  In the meeting, knowing nothing about what had happened the day before, God highlighted this lady and we were able to give her a prophetic word of encouragement! God’s love had prepared the way and ensured that, through the obedience and heart of service of this church, the lady could be touched in such a personal way! We are hearing similar stories of encounter with Jesus everywhere we go and it is such an encouragement to each of us to step out and simply say “come and see” and then watch what Jesus will do for them.

Heartcry Moldova

As the long hard winter slowly comes to an end in Moldova, it’s time to begin building again. Our first sponsored refuge home has been a safe place for the six vulnerable young girls being cared for there. There are 28 villages in the immediate area where other vulnerable children still need our help so our partners on the ground will be starting to build the next refuges in the spring.

To facilitate the work in the villages and transport the children safely to and from school and other activities, Heartcry is hoping to raise the funds to purchase a 9 seater minibus (similar to the one pictured). The cost is approximately 10,000 Euros and we have already raised a third of this amount.  Our target is to have the bus by Easter. If you can help support our Moldova project, please consider donating.
