Back to News

As the leaves have begun to fall and the clocks fall back an hour in the UK, we are reminded that the seasons are changing and Thanksgiving and Christmas are now just around the corner.  November is also traditionally a time when we mark Remembrance Sunday (Veterans’ Day in the USA) and honour those who sacrificially gave their lives to secure our freedom…what a legacy they left our generation!  At Heartcry we have just entered our 25th anniversary year and we are stirred by this theme of legacy.  We love this quote by Jim Rohn: “All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine.” We are frequently asked to mentor and train the next generation of passionate prophetic  pioneers and pass on some of the batons of leadership experience we have. So to mark our silver jubilee, we are excited to be planning a series of “Legacy Days” for 2019 and beyond – these will be opportunities to be engaged, inspired and equipped in an atmosphere of faith to dream bigger and allow the ceilings of today to become platforms for growth and development with the aim that we, too, can be a generation that leaves a legacy of change and blessing for those who will follow us.  Bookings for our first training day on 19 January 2019 in Oxford will open during November.  Do watch our Facebook and website pages for updates and why not come and join us on this new adventure.  You can read more about the vision and hear a video invitation from Rachel here.

Although we have been busy planning for next year, life has not slowed down this month!  In between designing logos and webpages for the Legacy Days, I have had the joy of leading a weekend women’s retreat for Fleet Baptist Church on the theme “Our identity and calling”, speaking at an Oxfordshire “Filling Station” meeting and a day conference on “Seasons of Upgrades” in Reading.  Each of these preaching engagements has given opportunities to hear the passionate cry of people in our nation at this time that something positive and Kingdom-focused should arise out of the confusion and negativity of the debates surrounding Brexit.  Everywhere we go we sense a stirring in the people of God that this crucible can birth the rediscovery of our true identity and calling as a nation as well as propel us to “upgrade” our expectation of God and of each other.  Whether you face the uncertainty of a post-Brexit Britain and Europe, or are wondering about the shape of governmental authority after the mid-term elections in the USA, this is not a time to become overwhelmed by politics but instead let it be a provocation and an encouragement to look to Jesus with new confidence and trust.  He is the hope for the nations!

While I have been UK-based, Rachel and Gordon have traveled to the USA. Their first stop was Spokane, Washington. Here they were able to minister at Victory Faith Fellowship hosted by Pastors Craig and Monie Lotze. You can hear the messages at http://www.victoryfaith.org/faithcast/. This was a time of friendship, refreshing and joy. God blessed us and strengthened our partnership further. Then they arrived in Seattle for a few days of connecting with friends and having business meetings that will help position Heartcry for Change organizationally for the next season. They will now travel to Bentonville, AR, and then have time with family in San Antonio and finally attend the Prophetic and Apostolic gathering in Dallas before returning home to the UK after many weeks away.

Meanwhile, Gill Trevor our Moldova Project  co-ordinator, has been in Moldova catching up with our partners on the ground.  Rachel and I also had the joy of meeting up with Charlotte Peterson (who oversees the work with the girls’ refuge homes) briefly while she was visiting the UK.  It was fantastic to hear of the progress with the building work on the second refuge home above the church in Riscani.  If you’ve been following this wonderful story, do check out the latest photos and report from Gill’s trip on our website’s project page. We hope you enjoy looking at the faces of all these transformed lives and seeing how a safe and warm home and church/youth centre is emerging out of what was a derelict building.

At Heartcry over this Thanksgiving and Christmas season we would love to set ourselves a generosity goal of $10,000 for the next stage of this Moldova journey. We asked the coordinators on the ground what their next need is and they said they want to finish the building with the final decoration, windows, doors and heating! This would be a wonderful warm Christmas for everyone! So, if you would like to be part of this journey of generosity, please do give via the donation button below and designate your gift for Moldova. Thank you!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Rachel. God has used you to encourage me so much. I have read two of your books: Little keys open big doors
Eat the word speak the word
Both books took me back to my relationship with God through Jesus.
Reminded me of God’s faithfulness and the reliability of His promises instead of listening to dream crushers. Thank you. Keep going. God is using you for His glory. God bless you.
